JESSORE: Mr Nurul Amin, President Pakistan Democratic Party, yesterday [Sept 21] warned the people against what he called conspiracy by undemocratic forces to foil the forthcoming elections and said if this conspiracy came out successful, it would simply perpetuate Martial Law and the people would not be able to solve their problems. …

Mr Nurul Amin said that the tendency of creating chaos and confusion in the country would simply stand in the way of transferring power to the people through democratic means.

He stressed on the need of peaceful atmosphere in the country for holding of general elections. The PDP chief said that Pakistan was now passing through a critical phase of her history and appealed to the people to act and decide very carefully. He expressed his determination to continue his struggle for the restoration of democracy.

Earlier, addressing the meeting, Mr Mahmud Ali, Vice-President of the PDP, called upon the people to make the framing of the constitution possible within the stipulated period of 120 days, by casting their votes judiciously. By doing so, he added, they would protect the full national integrity…. — Agency
