The Punjab Governor has in the past shown a spirit of partisanship … His unabashed affiliations with the Unionist Party have earned him an infamous name in the eyes of progressive organisations struggling to save the province from the consequences of an autocratic regime … We give unstinted support to the demand of the Working Committee of the Punjab Muslim League that “an impartial committee of inquiry be immediately appointed to investigate cases of flagrant intervention on the part of some of the permanent officials in actually approaching M.L.A.s to side with the Unionist Party and not to join the Muslim League Party”.…
