Iesco fails to ensure safety measures in Daultala

GUJAR KHAN: Iesco has failed to ensure safety measures on its transmission lines in Daultala town despite loss of a human life.

According to the local residents, a dangerously tilted transformer in the vicinity of Government Girls High School in the town caused electrocution to 21-year-old Mohammad Tauqir six months ago. The local officials instead of rectifying the fault visited the house of the deceased to pacify his relatives.

The locals said even after six months the issue has not been resolved.

Mr Amin, the line superintendent of Iesco Daultala subdivision, when contacted, said an estimate for rectifying the fault in the transformer had been submitted to the authorities concerned and its approval was awaited.

Irfan Shaukat, a resident of the area, complained that an electric pole in the vicinity of his house was damaged by a tractor trolley and it may fall on his house.

About this issue, the line superintendent said he had passed on instructions for the shifting of the pole to a safer place three days ago.
