Baroghil festival ends

CHITRAL: The two-day Baroghil festival concluded here the other day after a grand display of Wakhi culture in the land of glaciers and natural lakes.

Arranged jointly by the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Upper Chitral district administration, the festival was the first ever event held in Chitral after the Covid-19 pandemic, and attracted a large number of enthusiasts from across the country to witness yak polo, buzkashi, horse polo, folk sports and music.

The competitions amongst the seven villages of Baroghil valley in different games and display of cultural traits coupled with the superb scenic beauty of the valley enthralled the visitors, who had travelled for more than 15 hours from the Chitral city covering a distance of 250km through dirt tracks.
