PA session from Sept 2

LAHORE: The Punjab governor has summoned a session of the Punjab Assembly from Sept 2 (Wednesday).

This 24th session, first of the third parliamentary year of the 17th assembly, will be chaired by Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi as the assembly secretariat has issued a gazette notification to the effect.

Meanwhile, UAE Ambassador Hamad Obeid Ibrahim Salim Al-Zaabi called on Mr Elahi at the Assembly Chambers on Friday. Both the sides discussed matters of mutual interests and peace in the region.

Lauding cooperation and assistance in the establishment of hospitals and other development works by the UAE, Mr Elahi said the Gulf country had always demonstrated special love for the Pakistanis.

The speaker drew attention of the envoy towards vast opportunities for investment in energy, education, agriculture, livestock and other sectors in Pakistan, which might benefit foreign investors and further promote mutual contacts in economic and social fields.

The diplomat said that Pakistan and the UAE should benefit from each other’s expertise in all spheres of life and that his country was desirous of progress and development of both the countries.
