FAISALABAD: Four people were killed and seven others sustained injuries in an accident on Lahore-Jaranwala motorway near Chak 278-GB in the remit of Rodala police station on Wednesday.

Reports said three vehicles collided with each other during rain, killing four people -- Azam, Zeeshan, Abu Bakr and Iqbal of Chichawatni.

The injured have been shifted to the hospital where two of them are said to be critical.

PLOTS CANCELLED: The Faisalabad Development Authority has cancelled about three dozen plots of ‘chronic’ defaulters of FDA City Housing Colony.

The plots have been cancelled by the director general of FDA and now all [plots] would be sold through an open auction.

Draw for the allotment of plots had been held in 2005 and the successful allottees were asked to deposit their dues till March 31, 2007 through six instalments. However, the deposit period was extended up to 2011 to facilitate allottees.

DG Suhail Khwaja said the plots of the allotees were cancelled who failed to pay dues in the given time. He said 45-day relaxation was also given to the allottees, who had paid two or more instalments.

As many as, 38 [cancelled] plots of one kanal,10 marla and five marla categories have been selected for open auction, he said adding if the total dues were paid by any allottee plots by Sept 4, their plots would not be put in the auction list.
