NRPs allowed investment
KARACHI: Non-Resident Pakistanis (NRP) have been allowed investment in shares quoted at stock exchange through Rupee Value Account, said a State Bank circular on Thursday.
“Non-Resident Pakistanis have been allowed for investment in the shares quoted on the Stock Exchange in Pakistan by using funds available in their ‘NRP Rupee Value Account (NRVA)’ opened with any Authorized Dealers (ADs),” said the circular.
Additionally, ADs (banks) may allow the NRPs to use the facilities offered by Central Depository Company (CDC) for custody and clearing of such investment provided that the concerned investor specifically requests for such arrangements, it added.
