People won’t forgive opposition if it doesn’t launch movement: Fazl

SARGODHA: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman says the responsibility lies on the shoulders of all opposition parties, particularly on the PPP and the PML-N, to launch a movement in the house as well outside it to topple the selected government; otherwise, the people will not forgive them.

Talking to the media here on Thursday, he said the opposition must not favour the government for legislation. He said when he was informed about the opposition’s role in the parliament on Thursday, he remarked that the JUI-F had launched a comprehensive and effective movement for dislodging the Imran Niazi’s government but failed to achieve its goal due to non-cooperation of the PPP and the PML-N.

The Maulana said a multi-party conference and an agitational movement were likely to start after Eidul Azha but it would bear fruit only if major parties supported the joint cause aimed at the welfare of the country and its people.

He said the JUI-F had no ulterior motive like coming into power and its sole objective was to get rid of this government.Fazl said due to inefficiency and bad governance of Imran Niazi and his corrupt colleagues, the country’s economy had been ruined by lawlessness and nepotism, which needed to be discouraged.

“The so-called accountability is nothing but a process of revenge to oust the eminent politicians from politics.”

Fazl said the Supreme Court, in a recent judgment, had raised a question over integrity and eligibility of the NAB; therefore, its chairman should resign immediately.
