Website review: Love science

Science is a subject packed with diversified fields that let you dig into earth, space, living and nonliving things, and a lot more. These fields are so vast that you are usually left with a bundle of questions in your mind.

Of course, we learn by asking questions and doing experiments, this is where I find www.lovemyscience.com — a website about easy science experiments and answers to most of the questions that arise in your mind.

As I said earlier, the site Love My Science is full of easy, safe and exciting hands-on science experiments as well as fun facts and science topics that will help answer the questions coming in your mind daily.

All the experiments are simple, safe and easy to follow, and can be achieved with everyday materials and recycled items found around your house.

The interface of the site is simple, yet colourful and quite attractive. There are no ads and it also doesn’t require you to register. Once open, you can choose from the main menu at the top with categories like “Experiments”, “Fun”, “Science facts”, “Glossary”, “Topics” and “Gallery”.

The section on “Experiments” is further divided into physics, chemistry and biology, all having a long dropdown list of easy experiments in them. For instance, you can grow a mould, make yoghurt, musical pipes, magic egg, and many more. While in physics, you can do experiments like bending pencil, bending a beam in the dark, making a rainbow, rising tissue paper, make needle magnets, spinning egg, etc.

Similarly, in chemistry, though the list is too long, some of which include, dissolving vs melting, making a lava lamp, speedboat matchsticks, etc. As the name suggests, the section titled “Fun”, is about word searches, quizzes and science games.

You can read interesting science facts, questions and answers with sub-categories to choose from. If you have problem understanding science jargon then the category, “Glossary” will make it easy for you to see the definitions or meanings of the science-specific words. Lastly, the section ‘Gallery’ contains pictures of experiments the site has saved for the visitors.

Remember these are just simple experiments and don’t worry if they don’t come out as you would expect. Just enjoy!
