(EDITORIAL) Any impartial observer who has gone through the news columns of this paper must have been struck by the formidable lists of persons and organisations sending messages to Qaid-e-Azam Jinnah reiterating their faith in his leadership … Against this impressive picture what evidence can the so-called Nationalist Muslims produce to prove their bona fides. Assiduously have we searched the columns of the obliging Nationalist Press only to come across three names who ask Maulana Azad piteously to hold firm against the League. These three, namely, Mr. A.K. Fazlul Huq, Sir A.H. Ghuznavi and Maulana Hussain Ahmed Madni, remind one of the “three tailors of Tooley Street”…

The critics of Pakistan often say that separation will prove economically disastrous for India and it is in our own interests to have a unitary, Central Government which will pursue one uniform economic and industrial policy for the whole country. We have repeatedly pointed out that such arguments are scarcely necessary when the Musalmans are prepared to administer Pakistan at their own peril. But why at our own peril? The power, mineral and food resources of the Pakistan areas are sufficient, if not abundant, to maintain the population on a reasonable economic standard of living …
