Process begins to cancel illegal domiciles of Balochistan

QUETTA: All the domiciles obtained illegally in Balochistan for securing government jobs that were reserved for the residents of the province under the quota will be cancelled.

The process of cancellation of such domiciles has begun across Balochistan as Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has taken serious notice on reports that people who do not belong to Balochistan have got jobs in various federal and provincial departments in the province after getting domicile of the province through illegal means.

He has directed all deputy commissioners in the province to launch a drive for verification of all domiciles and other certificates issued in their respective districts.

Following instructions from the provincial government, Mastung’s deputy commissioner has canceled domiciles of about 400 people after verification.

Officials in Mastung said that these people had secured jobs in some federal departments after obtaining domiciles of the province through illegal means, although they did not belong to Balochistan.

Through advertisements in newspapers, the deputy commissioners in Balochistan have urged the people to get their domiciles and other certificates verified by the department concerned.

Meanwhile, Balochistan Governor retired Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai has said that all those people who have secured government jobs in the province by illegally getting its domicile should immediately be dismissed. He said the provincial government should check the practice of issuing the domicile of the province to those people who originally do not belong to it.

In a statement, he said the federal government in the past had launched a drive to verify domiciles of the employees in its departments in Balochistan to trace those people who had illegally secured jobs on the quota for the people of the province.

The governor paid tribute to organisations raising their voice for constitutional rights of the Balochistan people.

Prime Minister Imran Khan recently directed all federal ministries to submit reports about vacancies in government departments.

The PM Office has expressed displeasure over non-implementation on Balochistan’s quota in jobs in the federal government’s departments.
