Second phase of SUP protest in Mirpurkhas from 11th

HYDERABAD: Sindh United Party (SUP), while ending a sit-in and 24-hour token hunger strike outside the local press club on Saturday for immediate repatriation of Afghan refugees from Sindh, announced the second phase of the drive from July 11 to 12 in Mirpurkhas.

SUP general secretary Roshan Ali Buriro criticised the ruling PPP government for not ensuring the refugees’ repatriation through legislation despite getting more powers through the 18th Constitutional Amendment.

He said that other illegal immigrants — Burmese and Bengalis — were also usurping Sindh’s resources and turning Sindhis into a minority within the province.
