Former prime minister and PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has tested positive for coronavirus.

Spokesperson for PML-N Marriyum Aurangzeb confirmed the development to Dawn.com.

"Shahid Khaqan Abbasi's coronavirus test has come out positive, he has quarantined himself within his home," Aurangzeb said.

PML-N president and leader of the opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif expressed sorrow at the news and said, "Abbasi is an asset, we hope he will recover soon."
