Kidnap, gang-rape case filed

TOBA TEK SINGH: Gojra Saddar police registered a kidnapping and gang-rape case on Friday against two people of Chak 155-GB, 20 days after the incident took place.

The complainant, a motorcycle-rickshaw driver, claimed in his first information report (FIR) that two men had attempted to rape his 17-year-old daughter seven months ago and he had got an FIR registered against them and the case was under trial in a court.

The suspects had threatened him several times to withdraw the case or they will kidnap and rape his daughter, he stated.

On the night of May 16, the suspects and their two unidentified accomplices went to his house in a car, kidnapped his daughter at gunpoint, took her to a house and both raped her. At that time, his daughter was about to get married so he did not file a case for the fear that it might be called off. But now that the wedding has been cancelled, he got an FIR registered under sections 365-B and 376 of PPC, the complainant stated.

When contacted, police claimed that raids were being conducted to arrest the culprits.
