IIUI admission policy finalised

ISLAMABAD: International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has finalised its admission policy and will announce the admission process on June 14.

According toIIUI, students from across the country will apply for admission online into 115 programmes till July 31.

This was decided in a meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of IIUI Rector Dr Masoom Yasinzai and IIUI President Dr Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh (via video link). IIUI Acting President Dr Aqdas Naveed Malik, vice presidents, deans and other relevant officials were also present at the meeting, a statement issued by IIUI said on Friday.

“Participants discussed admission policy in detail. Online teaching policy and open-book online examinations were also discussed,” it stated, adding the meeting was briefed by Dr Jummani about training of departmentheads for preparation of open-book examination.

“The pandemic has badly affected the education sector. It is necessary to shift towards alternative methods and mediums of teaching,” the rector said on the occasion, adding that efforts made by IIUI in the wake of the outbreak were commendable and hoped that online policy and training will be helpful to restore the academic process.

Dr Yousif Al-Draiweesh said that the university responded to circumstances in a timely manner. Preparation of a well-balanced online teaching regime and examinations in a short period of time is an achievement, he added.
