Wafaqul Madaris seeks reopening of seminaries

MARDAN: The Wafaqul Madaris has demanded of the government to allow reopening of religious seminaries closed down due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The demand was made at a meeting on Thursday chaired by its president Maulana Anwar-ul-Haq and attended by nazim Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Maulana Hussain Ahmad, member Maulana Mohammad Qasim and other religious scholars.

The participants urged the government to allow organisers of religious seminaries to reopen them.

They argued that religious seminaries should also be opened just like other institutions.

The meeting also discussed ways for holding different examinations scheduled to be held in 2020-21.
