SUKKUR: Police arrested a man after his sister was allegedly shot dead by his father in Bagho Mahar village, located in the katcha area on the outskirts of this district on Friday.

According to police, the woman, Wajida Mahar, was shot dead by her father, Malano Mahar, in the name of honour. They said the suspect escaped from the village after committing the crime. However, they added, Malano’s son, Idrees Mahar, was arrested on suspicion of being actively involved in the murder.

The woman’s body was handed over to the heirs after a post-mortem examination.

Officials of the Raza Goth police station were investigating the case.
