KARAK: A man was killed by rivals in Jarasi Banda area here.

The police said Farhad Ali, who suffered critical stab injuries in the attack, died on the way to the Takht-i-Nusrati Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. The body was handed over to the family after postmortem.

The deceased’s brother, Nausher Ali, named Asif Nawaz and Khalid Nawaz in the FIR registered by the Shah Saleem police station.

HAILSTORM: A hailstorm lashed different parts of Karak district damaging standing wheat and gram crops on Wednesday night.

The natural calamity hit Palosa Sar, Sabirabad, Makh Banda, Shanki Banda and other areas.

District president of the farmers’ association Mohammad Iqbal Khattak said the hailstorm caused heavy losses to poor farmers as the harvesting of their crops was at hand. He demanded of the government to compensate such farmers.

Mr Khattak said the growers were already faced a crisis due to the government’s failure to provide them with wheat and gram seeds on subsidy.
