Rain, flood block roads in Shangla

SHANGLA: Heavy downpour in upper parts of Shangla caused flood in streams that led to blockade of roads.

The residents of Kana tehsil said that Shahpur-Ajmeer road was blocked near Damorai village and all types of vehicular traffic remained suspended. They said that flood in the streams brought mud and stones to the road and blocked it to traffic.

Javid Khan, a local resident, said that the road was blocked for the second time during a week due to heavy rain and flood in streams.

Locals said that Bisham city, Alpuri, Puran, Chakesar, Shahpur, Martung, Dandai, Kamach, Makhozi and other areas received heavy rain and power supply was also suspended.

Meanwhile, tehsil municipal administration has set up hand washing points at various places in Bisham city and hospital. The TMA officials urged people to wash their hands after every 30 minutes to remain safe from coronavirus.

Also, youth in Chakesar tehsil launched a campaign to create awareness among people about preventive measures against Covid-19.

They distributed pamphlets among people and advised them to adopt precautionary measures for keeping themselves safe from coronavirus.
