LANE Number 4 off Main Peshawar Road is a densely populated locality of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB). Its residents are living in miserable conditions owing to choked gutters and overflowing sewerage.

The road was dug up in November 2018 to lay pipelines alongside the sewerage drain and have not since then been recarpeted. With the passage time the lane has become dilapidated and the sewerage drains have also collapsed.

The dilapidated thoroughfare and overflowing sewerage cause traffic jams lasting hours, making it difficult for pedestrians, school children and the elderly to move through the lane.

Residents have sent many reminders to the RCB to carry out repairs and recarpeting but they were ignored.

The cantonment board authorities and federal government are requested to resolve the matter as the headquarters of extremely sensitive institutions are located in its vicinity.
