Nixor, Cedar seal victories
KARACHI: Nixor College and Cedar College both sealed comfortable victories in the latest round of matches of the seventh Bilal Bhaty Memorial Inter-school/collegiate T20 Cricket Tournament at the Al Nadi Al Burhani Ground here on Tuesday.
In the first match, Cedar rode on a sparkling knock of 68 from Zaid Umar to outgun Falconhouse Grammar School by an impressive margin of 54 runs.
Meanwhile in the day’s other fixture, Taimur Ejaz starred with a splendid innings of 54 while inspiring Nixor College to a 42-run defeat of City School Darakshan Campus.

Win for BN Polo Team
LAHORE: BN Polo Team overwhelmed PBG Risala 7-4 in The Lotus Aibak Polo Cup here at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Wednesday.
In the day’s second match, Guard Group/Artema Medical took a 6½-4 lead over Pebble Breakers after completion of four chukkers out of eight.
In the first match, from BN Team, Juan Maria Ruiz emerged as the top scorer, as he struck four goals while Babar Naseem, Ahmed Zubair Butt and Saqib Khan Khakwani scored a goal each.
In the second match, from Guard Group which had two-and-a-half goal handicap, Taimur Ali Malik smashed two goals while Daniyal Shaikh and Raja Taimur Nadeem hit one apiece.
From Pebble Breakers, Ahmed Ali Tiwana hammered a hat-trick while Juan Cruz Losada scored one.—Sports Reporter
KU, IoBM and Sir Syed University triumph
KARACHI: Karachi University beat Indus University, IoBM University outplayed Sindh Jamshoro University and Sir Syed University got the better of MAJU University on the third day of the HEC Inter-University Sindh Men’s Cricket Tournament at various grounds here on Wednesday.
In the other matches of the day, IQRA University beat Greenwich University, Mehran University stunned IBA Karachi while Khairpur University beat SZABIST University. Sir Syed University also triumphed over Quaid-e-Awam University and Hamdard University weat New Port University.—Agencies
Arena Premier Cricket League from 18th
KARACHI: The seventh edition of the Arena Premier Cricket League (APL) will be launched from Feb 18 at the UBL Sports Complex, Karachi. The event, organized by Arena Multimedia Pakistan, aims to promote healthy activities and opportunities for students to participate and enjoy the sport.
The league will feature teams from 14 Arena Multimedia Centers on the basis of a single league. The tournament’s final will be played on Feb 19 among the league’s top two teams with prominent players from the city including former players expected to attend the tournament’s closing ceremony.—Agencies

Pakistan’s strength lifting team off to Thailand
LAHORE: A five-member Pakistan strength lifting team left here for Thailand to take part in the World Strength and Incline Bench Press Championship being held there from Wednesday to Friday.
