ANNUAL REPORT: Alternate Solutions Institute (ASI) Pakistan, a non-governmental and research entity, released its annual report, 2019, at Chakdara bar room here on Thursday that highlights ‘the state of rule of law in Pakistan’.

Mentioning different reports related to Pakistan, the ASI report notes that 38,061 cases are pending in the Supreme Court, 345,004 in different high courts and 1.4 million cases in district judiciary in the country.

It shows that 15,000-16,000 people die each year in road accidents. It mentioned that Pakistan ranked first in Asia and 48th in the world in deaths caused by traffic accidents. It indicates that both private property rights and property protection are in peril.

It says the situation demands that ensuring protection of every citizen’s life and property and justice must be the one-point agenda of the government and state institutions.
