ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi has assured two-time IBSF world snooker champion Muhammad Asif of honouring him with a handsome cash reward for winning the world snooker title in Antalya, Turkey last year.

“The Honorable President was pleased to meet Asif and promised to recommend him for a befitting cash reward for his brilliant performance for the country,” said a press release issued by Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA) on Friday.

Co Chairman PBSA Alamgir A Shaikh & President PBSA Munawwar Hussain Shaikh were also present in the meeting held on Thursday.

The statement said that PBSA officials requested President to use his good offices for the release of a cash award for Muhammad Asif for his unparalleled achievement by winning the IBSF World Snooker title, for the second time for Pakistan. It said that President assured them that he would recommend a befitting cash award for the country’s top cueist.
