Two CDA officials sacked for stealing medicines

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) management has dismissed two officials for stealing medicines from Capital Hospital.

The officials who have been sacked were hospital technicians.

“A proper probe was conducted against the official on the charges of inefficiency, misconduct and corruption. The official was given right of defence but failed to submit a satisfactory reply. He was also granted opportunity of personal hearing, however, he failed to defend himself,” said a statement issued by CDA on Sunday.

It further stated that the second technician has also been removed from service on charges of corruption, misconduct and inefficiency.

“The officials has been terminated from service after fulfilling all codal formalities including proper inquiry and opportunity of personal hearing,” the statement said, adding that recovery on account of corruption would be made from the two dismissed officials.

CDA spokesperson Syed Safdar Ali confirmed that both officers were involved in stealing medicines from the hospital.

“They were caught red-handed last year, and an inquiry was initiated against them. We dismissed both officials after they were proven guilty,” he said.
