Plea for enforcing Saad’s production orders

LAHORE: A petition was submitted to the Lahore High Court against the Punjab government for not implementing production orders of MNA Khwaja Saad Rafique issued by the National Assembly speaker.

The petition was submitted by PML-N leader Khwaja Imran Nazir on behalf of Saad Rafique on Saturday.

The petitioner said the government was violating the Constitution by not issuing release order of MNA Saad Rafique so that he participate in the the assembly session.

He pleaded the court should order the government to implement the production orders and stop it from violating the Constitution and law, ensuring supremacy of the parliament.

“A member of the assembly could not be stopped from representing his people,” he said.

The petitioner further stated that the “incompetent rulers” were afraid of the real public representatives. “The economy has collapsed and people were struggling to make both ends meet because of high inflation,” he said.

He said the PML-N had built the institutions and brought stability in the country, but the present government was ruining the institutions.
