THIS is apropos the letter ‘Civil Hospital Panjgur’ (Dec 24). The writer has rightly pointed out pathetic conditions at the hospital in Panjgur. This is despite the fact that the previous government’s health minister was from the same district.

The hospital lacks proper infrastructure, while the shortage of doctors has created misery for the patients. In case of an emergency there are no facilities for proper treatment. The patients travel to Kech, Quetta or Karachi for treatment.

Similarly, there are no checks on medical stores and many of them are being operated without a proper licence. Lack of medicines is also a problem.

It is time the government and stakeholders looked at the health affairs and solved the issues being faced by Civil Hospital, Panjgur.
