Officials told to help disaster-hit people of Balochistan

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani said on Sunday that officials of all departments concerned had been directed to deal with unusual heavy snowfall in the province immediately and they were taking all possible steps to rescue and help the people trapped by snowfall and open all blocked National Highway routes.

The chief minister said this during a visit to the control room of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs of Balochistan Mir Zia Ahmed Langov accompanied Mr Alyani during the visit.

He said that some National Highway routes had been blocked by heavy snowfall, but due to immediate action

of the PDMA and other departments concerned, all highway routes had now been open for traffic.
