Justice Mamoon sworn in as LHC CJ

LAHORE: Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh on Wednesday sworn in as 49th chief justice of Lahore High Court (LHC).

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar administered oath to Justice Sheikh at a ceremony, attended by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Attorney General Anwar Mansoor Khan, judges of the court, provincial ministers, judicial officers, provincial and federal law officers.

After being sworn in, Chief Justice Sheikh arrived at the LHC where he received a warm welcome, including a salute from the police squad.

Chief Justice Sheikh was born on March 19, 1958, in Lahore. After completing his LLB from Punjab University, he attended Brunel University, the UK and was awarded GDSS. He practiced mainly on civil, commercial, corporate and constitutional side. He will retire on March 18.
