Fog continues to disrupt trains schedule

LAHORE: Foggy weather and other operational issues continued disrupting Pakistan Railways (PR) trains’ schedule badly for the last many days, leaving a number of passengers waiting for hours at Lahore and other major stations across the country.

The situation is worsening gradually, as arrival and departure of all express trains running between Lahore-Karachi and Peshawar, Lahore-Quetta and Rawalpindi, Peshawar continue delaying for hours on a daily basis.

According to a PR spokesperson, the major reason behind the trains schedule disruption is the harsh weather. “On Wednesday, the trains from Karachi and Quetta, including Shah Hussain Express, Pak Business Express, Karakoram, Pakistan, Millat, Jafar, Karachi, Khyber Mail, Jinnah, Fareed, Quetta and others arrived late in Lahore by up to 8 hours,” reads a press release.

Similarly, the departure of the aforementioned trains from Lahore to Karachi, Quetta and other destinations also delayed for hours, it said.
