City to remain in grip of cold wave for three days
KARACHI: The city remained under the influence of a cold wave on Wednesday with the Meteorological office saying such conditions would remain in the metropolis at least for the next three days when the temperature could touch the 10 degrees Celsius mark.
A senior official said that the cold and dry weather was likely to persist for the rest of the week with the temperature between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius and humidity — the amount of moisture in the atmosphere — to stay between 40 and 50 per cent.
“The current week is colder than the past few ones of this month and this trend is likely to stay in place next week,” said Karachi weatherman Sardar Sarfaraz.
He said the temperature in the city was likely to remain between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius for the next few days. Mostly dry weather was expected across Sindh with chances of thick fog in Sukkur, Jacobabad and upper Sindh areas, he said.
Meanwhile, an advisory issued by the Met office said that upper Sindh would remain in the grip of dense to moderate fog during morning and night while temperature in those areas could drop to two to four degrees Celsius. Most parts of Sindh, including Karachi, it said, were likely to remain under influence of westerly winds.
