LAHORE: A strong earthquake shook several cities of the country including Lahore on Friday to the dread of people who rushed out in the open to avoid any catastrophe.

According to the Met department, the intensity of the earthquake was 6.4 at the Richter scale and its epicentre was located in the Hindu Kush region, Afghanistan. Its depth was 210km and it occurred at 4:39pm.Besides Lahore, the earthquake jolted Islamabad, Peshawar, Chitral, Malakand, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Abbotabad, Lower Dir, Kohat, Sialkot, Parachinar, Hafizabad, Jhelum, Dera Ismael Khan, Noshera, Shabqadar, Murree, Toba Tek Singh, Skardu and Jhang.
