PESHAWAR: Speakers at a training programme here on Sunday urged women entrepreneurs to take interest in professional training to support their families and play their role in strengthening the local economy.

The event was arranged by Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) in collaboration with Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority under the project ‘national business development programme’.

WCCI president Rukhsana Nadir, senior vice president Aasis Jahangir, Smeda provincial chief Rashid Aman, Momina Nawaz Kakar, Fitrat Ilayas Bilour, Mehvish Karim and Firdus Hayat shared their views with the participants on the occasion.

The participants were imparted training about fashion designing, block printing, colouring clothes and colour making. The event was attended largely by women. The residents of different tribal districts also participated in the event.

The chamber representatives said that training events were organised at different times to guide the women so that they could start any sort of business of their choice at their homes and extend support to their families.

The Smeda chief said that such training events in collaboration with the women chamber would continue from time to time so that women could take advantage of the opportunities.
