Digital Pakistan

A FEW days ago, Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated a new plan for a ‘Digital Pakistan’. However, I was greatly disappointed to see that all this preparation for a ‘Digital Pakistan’ was reduced to nothing but inviting a few YouTubers to the pime minister’s office.

Although part of the digital and technological community of Pakistan, these YouTubers are but artists making videos of different sorts such as pranks and skits.

There were no companies from the technological sector included in the debate, let alone universities that offer degrees in such fields.

The reality is that we are still not investing out time and money in any real innovation and research that can possibly help us develop Pakistan as a 21st century country.
