‘Funds okayed for Dir-Chitral highway’

TIMERGARA: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MPA from Adenzai Humayun Khan has said the federal government has approved funds for construction of Chakdara-Chitral Highway to help end public woes.

Talking to journalists at Chakdara here on Sunday, he said a delegation of Lower Dir MPAs and PTI workers met with the chief minister in Peshawar a few days ago and apprised him about public grievances.

He said the CM had taken serious notice of the issues highlighted during the meeting. He said the chief minister had also ordered construction of Kalpani-Talash bypass road besides a sports’ stadium and a family park in Balambat.

The MPA said the CM had asked the local lawmakers to arrange land for the projects. He said the government would initiate work on an industrial state and a sports’ complex if land was provided for both the projects.

The lawmaker said work on Chakdara bypass road and Sanam Dam projects would start soon.

BOARD EXAM: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Malakand Chakdara, has announced that grade 9 examinations will commence from March 13, 2020, which means that there would be no board examination for 8th grade this year.

The administration and students of government and private schools have taken a sigh of relief after the issuance of the notification.

According to the notification issued by the assistant controller of examinations Naeemullah the other day, the last date for receipt of admission forms and fee for grade 9th regular students is Dec 30, and Dec 26 for private candidates.

Earlier, the government had decided to conduct composite examinations of grade 9th and 10th from next year, and also hold the board examination for the eighth grade. The government’s decision was opposed by the private schools, and the issue has been resolved by a provincial assembly’s standing committee.

Meanwhile, principal of the school for deaf and dumb, Timergara, Nisar Ahmad has complained that majority of special persons do not have their computerised national identity cards and hence they are not registered as voters.

Talking to journalists, he said special persons deserved to get CNIC to exercise their right to vote. He demanded of Nadra and the election commission to take notice of the matter.
