Buzdar girds up his loins for ‘efficient’ administration

LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has begun attempting to improve the performance of government offices and asked transfer-posting authorities to post able and suitable officers at key posts in respective departments.

“The chief minister desires that transferring authorities shall ensure that suitably qualified officer having requisite experience and competence are posted against important positions to improve functioning of the government departments,” reads a chief minister direction to the chief secretary, IGP and all administrative secretaries.

The chief minister has also clarified that the transferring authorities shall exercise their powers to transfer officials on particular grounds including – administrative, against vacant posts and operational necessity.

VISITS: The CM also has plans to resume visiting different cities to review progress on development schemes from the next week.

He may be making surprise visits to government offices, police stations and hospitals. He will also review arrangements made to maintain law and order as well as cleanliness conditions during these visits.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government has released Rs21m for the treatment of 10 patients for liver transplant, bone marrow and treatment of other diseases.
