KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau, Karachi, on Friday claimed that they had arrested 141 persons and recovered over Rs75 billion.

Sharing operational performance of NAB, Karachi, in 2019, an anti-graft watchdog spokesperson said they had received a total of 9,887 complaints. As many as 334 complaints were verified; inquiries were initiated in 141 while 65 investigations were carried out in the outgoing year.

NAB filed 37 references and 141 persons were arrested. Through plea bargain, the anti-graft body recovered over Rs5bn thr­ough direct recoveries while Rs702bn were recovered through “indirect recoveries”, according to a press release.
