Balochistan jobs

DURING Abdul Quddus Bizenjo’s tenure as Balochistan chief minister some vacancies for vaccinator, dispenser, etc., were announced in the health department. The test was conducted in the respective districts after the general elections in 2018.

The number of vacancies in Awaran district was higher. The candidates appeared in the written test in the district and the same day documents were scrutinised.

Soon after Jam Kamal Khan was elected as the new chief minister, the recruitment was cancelled without realising the misery of thousands of jobless candidates who had invested their money in transport, accommodation and food to go to district headquarters for the so-called tests.

This did not happen for the first time in Balochistan. Previous governments in collaboration with bureaucracy too announced the same vacancies before cancelling them. Ultimately, the posts were given to those who did not even appear in tests.

Now once again there are reports these posts are being given to those who are incompetent.

Such acts by the government show its lack of concerned for the unemployed youths in the province. Instead of conducting tests in their home districts, the candidates are being asked to appear for tests in other districts. Announcing and cancelling jobs is a modus operandi for collecting fee multiple times.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is active chiefly against politicians, bureaucrats and other authorities in other parts of the country. But when it comes to Balochistan, NAB is not bothered.

I appeal to the federal and provincial governments and the judiciary to look into these issues to give Balochistan youths some hope.
