Kohat BISE launches helpline for students

KOHAT: Announcing reforms in the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Kohat, at an open court, its chairman Dr Shaukat Hayat on Thursday inaugurated a toll-free number for the guidance and information of students and introduction of grading system for the satisfaction of candidates and their parents.

It was the first-ever open court at the board auditorium, which was attended by the board’s secretary Ilyas Afridi, assistant secretary Nayyar Azam, controller and principals of the schools.

The chairman said that soon paperless system would be introduced to rid the students of filling and submitting admission forms for which data of the students would be collected.

He announced that one window facility would be introduced for the convenience of students.

Meanwhile, District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Shoeb on Thursday distributed commendation certificates among judges of model courts for fast delivery of justice to the people.

The function was attended by all the judges and lawyers.

On this occasion, he said that the criminal model court, civil model court, and magistrate model court resolved 538 cases in a record period of five months.

SHELTER HOME: After inaugurating the building of shelter home at Melam Center here, Commissioner Kohat division Abdul Jabbar Khan said that free residential facility and food is being provided to the attendants of patients and needy people at the facility.

He was accompanied by additional deputy commissioner Shah Nawaz, district social welfare officer Amjid Afridi, deputy commissioner Matiullah Khan and business and political figures of the area.

Talking to mediapersons on the occasion, the commissioner said that Kohat was the gateway to southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the facility was being provided keeping in view the needs of stay for the local and non-local attendants of patients.

He inspected the 25-bed shelter home and ordered that it should be opened formally at the earliest.

He said that people brought their patients to Kohat from other districts as well who had no place to reside except staying at a hotel which put more burden on them.
