LAHORE: Four events were decided on the first of the two-day National Youth and Junior Athletics Championship here at the Punjab Stadium on Monday.
In the men’s 1500 metres Aamir Sohail of Wapda won the gold medal while and Iftikhar of the same units claimed silver. Ghulam Mohyuddin took home the bronze medal.
The men’s110 metres hurdles was won by Danish of Army, while Waqas Younus of Wapda and Mohammad Sufyan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remained second and third respectively.
In the women’s 200 metres, Ayesha of Punjab took gold while Tehrem Aalam of Wapda and Sanheeha Shaheen of Punjab claimed the silver and bronze medals respectively.
In the women’s long-jump event, Urooj of KP clinched gold while Munaza of Punjab and Kaila of Army claimed second and third places.
