SEXUAL abuse and harassment are serious issues that transcend racial, economic, social and religious lines. Worldwide around 40 to 47 per cent of sexual assaults are perpetrated against girls who are 17 or younger -- most often by a male relative, neighbour or a male teacher.

I feel schools, colleges and universities should lay down clear policies and strict laws to ensure girls have a safe and secure learning environment.
