From The Past Pages Of Dawn: 1969: Fifty Years Ago: CSP officials screened

RAWALPINDI: The Central Government is expected to announce within a couple of days the list of the officers being screened out from Government service on the charge of accumulating wealth through corruption and other unfair means, [agency] reliably learnt here today [Nov 24]. The list, it is learnt, is being finalised and will be out most likely by Nov 26. It will include many CSPs, officials of police and other departments.

The screening is being done to weed out corruption from the service. Cases against these officers were detected sometime back and thorough inquiry was made. The declarations of assets submitted by these officers were also taken into consideration. Even some of the officers were heard in person by a committee appointed for this purpose. — Agency
