PTI introduced valuable reforms: CM

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mehmood Khan said on Tuesday that PTI introduced valuable reforms by implementing announcing educational emergency in the province since its first day of coming into government.

Addressing the 54th parent’s day ceremony at Cadet College Kohat, he said that in addition to raising the standard of government educational institutions, new educational institutions were set up including Mardan Cadet College for Women.

According to a statement, Mr Khan said that the gap between rich and poor could only be bridged through promotion of quality education. He said that he was pleased to see that due to the hard work of teachers and administration, Cadet College Kohat was one of the best in the country.

“The syllabus and co-curricular activities of the cadets, as well as the ethical training and character-building process that is set up in this faculty, are well-appreciated,” said the chief minister.

Referring to the priorities of the provincial government, He said that the list of government initiatives and reforms in the field of education was long. He said that provincial government increased education budget manifolds.

Free delivery of textbooks to children, disbursement of scholarships, provision of missing facilities in schools, recruitment of thousands of teachers on merit, establishment of IT labs in schools, construction of grounds, professional training for teachers and integrating the curriculum with modern requirements were the most important steps taken by the provincial government, he said.

Mr Khan said that in order to meet the modern challenges in that era of competition, it was important to be aware of new educational trends and styles.

Later, the chief minister handed over medals and awards to the cadets, who performed best in the annual examinations and co-curricular competitions during the academic year 2019.

He also inspected the march pass and exhibition presented by the cadets. On this occasion, he was presented a souvenir on behalf of the college.
