Elders seek end to power outages

KARAK: The elders of Takht-i-Nusrati tehsil have demanded of the authorities to end unscheduled power loadshedding in the district and expedite work on Siraj Baba grid station.

The demand was made in a meeting of the elders, led by Maulana Arshad Nawaz Azizi, with Pesco deputy director Aminullah in his office here on Tuesday. The elders showed resentment over unscheduled loadshedding in the district.

They said that people were facing acute shortage of drinking water in the district owing to prolonged power loadshedding.

They said that loadshedding should be observed according to the schedule issued by the government for urban and rural areas.

The Pesco deputy director assured the elders that loadshedding would be observed according to schedule.

He said that next week, he would hold a khuli kutcheri in Takht-i-Nusrati to hear the complaints of people regarding electricity.

The official asked the elders to cooperate with Pesco staff to resolve the problem. He also asked them to make sure payment of monthly power bills.

VISIT: Assistant Commissioner Abdus Samad Nizamani paid surprise visit to women and children hospital and showed dissatisfaction over the unhygienic environment of the hospital.

He visited different wards of the hospital and asked the medical superintendent to make sure proper cleanliness of the facility on daily basis.

He was informed on the occasion about the shortage of medical officers in the hospital.

He was told that seven medical officers posted in the hospital were transferred but new doctors were not posted there.

The assistant commissioner wrote a letter to provincial government regarding shortage of doctors in the hospital and resolved that he would try his level best to provide the required facilities to hospital staffers to make them able to serve the people in a better way.

He said that no laxity on the part of the health staff would be tolerated.

He said that all out support would be extended to administration of the hospital to improve services being provided to the people of the district.
