Imran’s fans to oppose safe passage to Nawaz: Rashid

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid said on Saturday Prime Minister Imran Khan’s followers would not accept a safe passage to looters.

He told a press conference that PML-N’s move to the court to get the name of the former prime minister struck off from the ECL was a wise decision as no one would blame the government or the PML-N for any deal and Mr Sharif would soon leave the country.

The minister said JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman took a good decision to end the sit-in as participants were continuously leaving the venue. He said JUI-F’s second phase of protest to block roads in the country was illegal and the government machinery could take action against it.

He said Asif Ali Zardari and Khurshid Shah would also settle their matter through a plea bargain. “I don’t see any future of Nawaz, Shahbaz and Asif in politics,” he said.

Replying to a query about the responsibility of accidents of trains, he said 19 employees were suspended from service.

He said railway stations of Narowal, Hassanabdal and Nankana Sahib would be the best railway stations in future to facilitate Sikhs for religious tourism.

He said they were not abolishing Railway Police and would soon recruit 500 more people and they were planning to give permanent job to TLA employees after Dec 10 court decision.
