Six die, seven injured in jeep, van collision

SIALKOT: Six people were killed and seven others injured in a collision between a jeep and a van during dense fog here on Wednesday near Poorab-Badiana village on Sialkot-Pasrur Road.

Reports said a Land Cruiser [jeep] collided with a van during fog early in the morning, killing Sufyan Akram (23), Fazeelat Iqbal (4) and Yaqub Ghafur ( 24) on the spot. Three of the injured - Safdar, Rafia and Farooq – succumbed to their wounds at Government Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital, Sialkot, in the evening.

The deceased belonged to Gujranwala. Seven others namely Mehak, Hamza, Shazaib, Suleman, Muqadas, Sultan and Hafeeza suffered injuries and were shifted to Government Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital.

Doctors said the condition of three injured was critical as their legs, arms and ribs were fractured.
