Japan provides $2m for Afghan refugees

ISLAMABAD, Aug 7: Japan has provided $2 million to the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) as a grant for Afghan refugees in Pakistan, Voice of America reported.

Japan handed over the grant to UNHCR in Geneva, which would help it in carrying out welfare activities for Afghan refugees.

Besides repatriating the Afghan refugees from Pakistan, UNHCR is also providing them education, health, clean drinking water and other facilities.—app
