Two health workers die on road in Shangla

SHANGLA: Two staffers of tehsil headquarters hospital, Bisham, died and two others sustained critically injuries when a jeep they were travelling in fell into a ravine at Yakhtangay here on Tuesday.

According to police, four staff members, including deputy medical superintendent of THQ hospital Hafiz Sanaullah, were on way to Puran on official duty. But, when they reached Yakhtangay brakes of the jeep failed and it fell into a ravine. A technician, Umar Bacha, died on the spot, while three others, including Mr Sanaullah, got injuries. The injured were shifted to the district headquarters hospital, Alpuri, wherefrom two of the injured were referred to Saidu Teaching Hospital Swat in precarious condition. However, Sabir, one of the injured staffers, succumbed to injuries one way to hospital.

Sources in Alpuri hospital said DMS Dr Sanaullah had a head injury but he had been discharged after first aid.
