ISLAMABAD: The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (Drap) has started a crackdown on medical stores selling medicines at exorbitant rates.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of National Health Services, the ministry got a complaint that a medicine for blood pressure was being sold for Rs1,200 instead of Rs170.

“Another medicine for blood pressure was being sold for Rs1,900 instead of its actual price of Rs457 while a medicine which was priced at Rs62 is being sold for Rs1,350,” the statement added.

Drap has warned those selling medicines at exorbitant rates that strict action would be taken against them.
