Travel resumes at Pak-Iran border near Chagai

CHAGAI: Cross-border travelling activities between the bordering districts of Pakistan and Iran resumed on Sunday.

While confirming the development, Levies officials based in Taftan said that people having 15-day special permit issued by the deputy commissioner of Chagai and a senior official in Mir Javeh were allowed to proceed towards their destinations in Iran and Pakistan.

The joint travelling gate which is commonly known as ‘Raahdari’ was closed two weeks ago owing to Arbaeen commemorations in Iran.

The Iranians and Pakistanis, who have relatives on both sides of the border are allowed to visit their loved ones after fulfilling legal procedures which include formal invitation and a detailed application form submitted to authorities concerned in their respective countries.
