CM inspection team probing spread of dengue virus

RAWALPINDI: Punjab Chief Minister’s Inspection Team is investigating the spread of dengue virus in the garrison city, particularly in 18 union councils, and will soon finalise its report.

This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Saifullah Dogar while briefing mediapersons about the anti-dengue campaign on Thursday.

He said the inspection team recorded statements of all the department officials concerned and the investigation was in final stages.

He said efforts to control the spread of dengue virus had resulted in decrease of dengue cases, particularly in the affected areas.

“Earlier, more than 200 to 240 patients were daily reported from the affected areas but from last Friday the figure has been reduced to 114 to 110 patients daily.”

He said at present 414 dengue patients were being treated at three government run hospitals while 307 patients were discharged during the last 24 hours.
